“I love outdoor adventures and thoroughly enjoyed this book. The story chronicles a dual sport trip during the pandemic through the back country of Idaho and Montana. Having driven or biked many of the stretches I was reminded of my own adventures. The strong narrative voice of the author really comes out, and you find yourself riding along in the story as if you are reuniting with an old friend. Easy to read, fun, and full of wrong turns, back stories, and rants that bring the trip to life.”

“An absolute page turner of a book! This story left me laughing and deep in thought on each page. The author not only places you in his shoes but will have you tasting the same dirt! I thoroughly enjoyed the book by Mr. Garrett and eagerly await a sequel!”

“Whether you ride or not, this a great read, not to mention a clever title. I enjoyed the trail riding adventure, the stories from Darrell's life, the mix of people and places along the trail, and Darrell's observations about the world weaved in throughout this book. Based on the reading, Darrell loves his wife, riding motorcycles, a nice stiff drink, and breakfast, roughly in that order. Read their heart-pounding encounters and the completion of the ride.”

“This book gave to me several things. One - it is hard to "get your mind right" after meeting with irritating people and being in difficult situations BUT a good trail/road and the freedom that a bike gives you is the best cure there is. Two - brake fluid can boil and that explained a conundrum that had happened on the trail in the past. Get off the damn brake and let it cool down! Three - hearing about your big adventure makes me want to buckle down and plan some of my own! This book brought home how important it is to explore and go adventuring to both reset your mind and soul and find the bright and starry points of life. My mind gets in such a clusterf*ck if all I do is work! I liked all of the references to the good people in the book that have positive life qualities and the smattering of history in each chapter. It made me want to visit and experience some of what ya'll did. Most of all I enjoyed reading about the close relationship Darrell and Mariah have and how unstoppable they are when they are together.

"Darrell's book was a chance for me to relive much of the same parts of the trip that we had all rode the year earlier on most parts of the Idaho backcountry discovery route. The details of his thoughts, visual perceptions and encounters along the way are what make this book worth reading! Thanks for the memories!"

"Wow! I still feel like I'm on this motorcycle adventure of over 1700 miles with Darrell and Mariah. I love learning about different perspectives and ways of getting through life. Darrell keeps it real in this book. At times I was on the edge of my seat, other times laughing, and also admiring the love that Darrell and Mariah share. These are two brave souls who willingly went the distance and then some. While the trip had many unpleasantries, I believe those times of euphoria and becoming one with the motorcycles made the trip more than worthwhile. Thank you for taking me along for the ride.
